Acne also known as pimples is a chronic inflammation skin condition that causes spot and pimples, especially on the face, shoulders, back, neck, chest and upper arms. Acne is a skin conditions that occurs when hair follicles becomes plugged with oil and dead skin cells, lets now look at the causes of acne.
What causes Acne?
Make up: the use of makeup and certain cosmetic product may cause acne, there may be certain ingredients in the foundation that may facilitate the occurrence of acne, they are different types of skin foundation formulated for dry and oily skin and the use of an unsuitable foundation may cause acne.
Hormones: Androgen’s are hormones that increase in boys and girls during puberty and cause the sebaceous gland to enlarge and make more serum. Hormonal changes during pregnancy and the use of oral contraceptive also can affect sebum production, low amount of androgens circulate in the blood of women and can worsen acne.
Stress: stress is a factor that can cause acne. Studies have shown that patients with less stressful life are less affected.
Pore Clogging: Pore clogging can cause acne, the skin needs to breathe and when it is covered by cloths or headbands (especially those made with synthetic materials) for most of the day, this may result in breeding acne.
Diet: when it comes to acneing the key lies directly in your diet. When the right amount of insulin (and other chemicals) is produced, your sebum production should remain consistent. Studies indicates that certain dietary factors including skim milk and carbohydrate –rich food such as bread, bagels, potatoes chips, pizza, milk chocolate, diary, ice cream and soda, form part of the causes of acne .
