Prevention and management of acne
Treatment of acne is necessary because scares appearing on the skin are very difficult to be removed later, here are many methods to reduce their severity and keep them in place.
Raw lemon juice:
lemons help to fight both acne and scars. The acid destroys the bacteria that cause acne; you can apply lemon juice directly to the affected areas on your face. It will kill the bacteria and help get rid of the pimples, add lemon juice to your favorite mask and exfoliate with it.
keep your face clean:
whether or not you have acne. It’s important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells and extra oil from your skins surface. Washing more often than twice daily is not necessarily better, it may do more harm than good. Use warm, not hot water and mild facial cleanser. Using a harsh soap can hurt the already inflamed skin and cause more irritation.
feed your skin:
most experts agree that certain foods, like chocolate, don’t cause pimples, it makes sense to avoid greasy food and junk food and add more fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains to your diet.
Stay out of the sun:
the sun’s ultra violet rays can increase inflammation and redness and can cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark coloration). Some acne medications may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight; limit your time in the sun, and wear protective clothing such as long sleeve, shirts, pants, and a broad brimmed hat.
keep your hand off your face:
avoid touching your face or popping your cheek or chin with your hands, not only can it spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin, never pick or pop pimples with your fingers ,as it can lead to infection or scar.
many acne products contains ingredients that dry the skin, so always use a moisturizer that minimizes dryness and skin peeling, there are moisturizers made for oily, dry or combined skin.
